BECAUSE During Sixteen Years of the National Democratic Administration PLUS Fifty Years of State Democratic Administration PLUS Eighteen Years of County Democratic Administration WE HAVE DONE THE FOLLOWING: 1. Whipped the depression. 2. Provided old-age assistance. 3. Established Social Security. 4. Guaranteed safety for your bank deposits. 5. Provided full employment instead of long bread lines. 6. Increased the national income from $38 bil lions to $200 billions. 7. Built a vast network of highways and farm market roads linking every part of North Caro lina together. 8. Provided state-wide support of entire public school system and furnished free lunches for the children, relieving local taxpayers. 9. Adopted and working on plan to improve and make Transylvania county schools the equal of any in North Carolina, with four new buildings completed, improvements to all others, and three new ones planned. 10. Reduced Transylvania county tax rate from $2.75 in 1928 to $1.55 in 1948. 11. Fought and won the greatest war of all time and made our c*Mntry the greatest power on the face of the earth. 12.
